Week 27: Glass & Slates

Our windows arrived from Internorm - all the way from Austria - this week and the fitters from Calum Walker Energy Source didn't waste any time in starting to install them into the house.

The roofers have also started putting the slates on the roof this week.  We chose a traditional heavy Spanish slate from Cupa as we thought it would blend well with neighbouring properties.

Week 26: Cabling & plumbing...

Not much of a day on site today when I popped around to check on progress.

The rain was torrential.

Just as well that the windows and doors will be getting installed this week.

The plumbers and electricians have been busy over the last few days installing pipes and cables all around the house.

We also visited The Homebuilding & Renovation Show at The SECC over the weekend and spent an hour or two finalising the specs for bathroom fixtures & fittings.

Week 24: Roof Felt & Stud Partitions

The joiners have now completed the roof build & the roofers have installed the roof felt ahead of the slate installation.  "Can you tell me where I can get felt?"
The internal fit out has commenced (upstairs) and the stud partition wall for the main lounge is now being built.  The slot window (below) forms part of the kitchen 'splash back' area.
